THE CRAZY LADY AND HER CATS
"Free your mind: embrace the madness!"
THE CRAZY LADY
SARAH
I have always had a passion for the animal world. I am completely hypnotized by their beauty, abilities, and personalities.
Cats, in particular, have always caught my attention. They are independent, resourceful, quirky, and determined beings. They don't need us to survive, and in my case, I even believe it's the opposite. The presence of these creatures brings me an indescribable sense of well-being.
I worked for 10 years as an animal health technician before making a complete career shift into interior design. You may find it hard to connect the dots, but I am an artist at heart, a creator, and I felt the need to express this in my daily life through my career.
And that brings us to La Folle Aux Chats, a fusion of my love for cats and my creative spirit.
LADY FLUFFINSKY
TROUPIETTE
I was at the veterinary hospital for follow-up ultrasounds for my Minie-Mademoiselle.
I was waiting in the little waiting area, which has a coffee section and adoption cat condos. Troupiette was the only one there. I can't even describe all the antics she did to get my attention.
I immediately began the adoption process. She had been abandoned because of a malformation in her right rear leg, which we eventually had to amputate.
Lady Fluffinsky enhances every second of every minute of every hour of my daily life. Her completely wacky personality makes me laugh nonstop.
Losing her leg doesn’t bother her at all; on the contrary, I’ve noticed a beautiful difference in her confidence and movements.
MR. TRÉPIED
TROUPIED
Mr. Trépied came to join the family after a friend needed to temporarily place him outside the house due to her son’s severe allergies.
I already knew his gentle, affectionate, and calm temperament. I didn’t hesitate to offer to be his foster family. He integrated wonderfully, and today, he is fully part of my household.
Yes, another little feline on three legs! Trépied had his leg amputated after an accident and was later adopted by my friend, who was the animal health technician who assisted in the surgery.
A true little charmer, this Mr. Trépied!
BOULETTE
BOUNE-BOUNE DE LA BOULE
She appeared in my life one evening when a neighbor knocked on my door with this tiny little ball she had rescued from a breeder who was trying to euthanize her.
A descendant of a female Highland Lynx, she was born without a tail. Genetic manipulation can have harmful effects, and in Boulette’s case, it affected her spine and hips. Her breed’s particularity has turned into a handicap.
I had the necessary exams done to ensure that she wasn’t suffering from it. In fact, she simply has a quirky gait.
She is very gentle, affectionate in her own way, and full of life.
THE LATE MADEMOISELLE
MINIE-MAMOUASELLE
An exceptional cat with a 'sweet-and-salty' personality, as my partner would say.
One day, a friend of mine, another crazy one, sent me a post from the animal protection society. It was the perfect replica of my Mr., with all the traits of a little female, his Madame.
Of course, I couldn’t leave without her. The bond was instant; we were inseparable. She was my complement, my alter ego.
Minie-Mademoiselle developed a gastrointestinal lymphoma at the age of 9, and the degeneration happened in just a few months despite the treatments.
THE LATE MONSIEUR
MIIIIIIIIIIIIISSIEUR
I was alone for a long time with Mr. I went through some of my toughest trials in his presence. He was my lifeline, my comfort, my friend.
He was a real rag doll, who loved being held, stroked, and handled. He was never far from me and always found moments to come snuggle up to me. This cat knew no malice.
I was young, and I went to a relative’s house to adopt a kitten from a farm cat litter. He charmed me instantly with his awkward gait, his desire to go everywhere and see everything, and his simple gaze.
Thirteen wonderful years by his side that ended in just a few days, due to a malignant tumor that developed on his orbital nerve.
THE LATE NEFERTITI
TITI
I’ve been lucky to always have a pet in my life since my youngest age. Nefertiti arrived during my early adolescence.
She was an old soul from the start of her little kitten life. She always had a calm temperament, carefully choosing her company. Lucky me, she accepted me!
She was always very close but never necessarily glued to me. A true little statue, just happy to be in my presence, needing nothing more.
She still had her moments of spontaneous craziness, because after all, she was still a cat. She was there when Mr. arrived, and she never loved him without hating him. But he definitely disrupted her little, well-established routine. Nefertiti passed away from old age at the age of 16.
